NewsAbdulrahman Al-Asem, CEO of the Saudi Libraries Commission, unveiled a gadget in the King Fahd National Library Park in Riyad that was derived from the "Masmou" idea of audio library booths. Visitors to parks and libraries may easily and conveniently take advantage of the available audio services thanks to the gadget.
The device's debut is an extension of the second phase that the commission began this year in Al-Ahsa, and it will be followed by the introduction of many devices in Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Eastern Province. Another one of the commission's major aims is to offer library services in public spaces. Through "Masmou," the commission aims to offer audio content, improve access to information for various community groups throughout the Kingdom, and revive cultural heritage in a fresh way by making audiobooks available in distinctive settings.
The Ministry of Telegraph, Post, and Telephone's phone booths from the 1980s and 1990s served as an inspiration for the audio library booths project since they were widely accessible and simple to use. Users of the "Masmou" booths may listen to audio content on their mobile devices by exploring the content by to duration, subject, most-listened-to, and other categories. The user may then select the appropriate audio file and listen to a brief excerpt immediately on the device or scan the QR code with their mobile device to listen to the whole audio file.
