A total of 68,721 pilgrims have benefited from the Makkah Route initiative this Hajj season

This Hajj season, the Makkah Route programme has benefitted 68,721 pilgrims in total as of Wednesday.

The Makkah Route initiative is being carried out by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with its partners as a part of the Saudi Arabian Pilgrim Experience Programme, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programmes.

Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and, for the first time, Turkiye and the Ivory Coast, are now implementing the project.

The recipients arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on 189 aircraft.

The initiative aims to finish passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after confirming the health requirements, as well as coding and sorting luggage in accordance with transportation and lodging arrangements in the Kingdom. The initiative begins with electronically issuing the visa and capturing the vital characteristics.
