AlUla Arts Festival; two new exhibitions - The Shadow Over Everything and Unguessed Kinships

The Shadow Over Everything and Unguessed Kinships, two new shows, together with Desert X, are part of the first AlUla Arts Festival. The visual art and design residency at AlUla is the source of the two new shows. The UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic oasis city of AlUla hosted the opening of the third edition of the desert art festival on Thursday, February 8.

Beautiful modern artworks by Saudi and foreign artists are displayed in Desert X AlUla against the unique setting of the desert in AlUla. This is the first site-responsive show of its sort in Saudi Arabia, with all participating artists drawing direct inspiration from the breathtaking desert landscape.

"In the Presence of Absence" is the topic of the 2024 event, which poses the question, "What cannot be seen?" Concepts of the invisible and indescribable have been addressed by artists. You will be inspired to interact with what is not immediately obvious in their works. Desert X is open through March 23rd, Saturday.

Desert X AlUla 2024 Day Pass: With this complimentary one-day pass, take in every piece of 2024 Desert X art. You will move independently and at your speed between the pieces of art.

Desert X AlUla 2024 comprehensive guided trip itinerary: During this tour of all the Desert X 2024 artworks, you will be chauffeured between them by automobile, with a limit of five people per vehicle. The cost of the six-hour excursion is SAR 750 per person.
