Art exhibition titled Art of the Kingdom, set to introduce Saudi contemporary art to the world stage

News EventThe Museums Commission has announced the opening of "Art of the Kingdom," a ground-breaking art exhibition that will present Saudi contemporary art to the global audience. The goal of the touring exhibition is to promote a greater awareness of Saudi Arabia's changing cultural scene on a worldwide scale by showcasing the greatest artistic practices in the country.
The show, which has a carefully chosen collection of pieces by prominent contemporary Saudi artists, will make its debut in Brazil in November 2024, in conjunction with the G20 Summit. The show will make its Brazilian premiere in early 2025 before travelling to Riyadh, where it will be held at the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in the JAX District. At the end of 2025, it will wrap off its globe tour at Beijing's National Museum of China.
The maiden event in Brazil, titled "Poetic Illuminations," will showcase more than fifteen Saudi artists across a range of artistic techniques and generations. A wide range of visual arts, representing the rich diversity of Saudi Arabia's cultural and creative landscape, will be shown in the exhibition. These arts include installations, sculptures, oil paintings, and drawings.
Through "Art of the Kingdom," the Museums Commission hopes to elevate Saudi Arabia's cultural position in the world of art while also empowering and promoting Saudi artists on the worldwide scene.
