NewsTo protect children's personal data, representatives of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority have started an awareness campaign. The project is a part of the authority's commitment to safeguard children's rights regarding the processing of their personal data, preserve their privacy, and comply with laws and child rights agreements. It was scheduled to coincide with International Children's Day.
The goal of the SDAIA is to teach kids how to stay off of inappropriate websites. It is recommended that families download files and games from reputable sources exclusively, and that they periodically check the personal information that is kept on a child's device, in electronic games, or on social networking platforms.
The authorities issued a warning against providing personal information with unknown websites, including names, home addresses, or photos, and uploading images of children or family members online.
Parents were advised to monitor their child's device, be alert, and keep an eye on any files or games that are being downloaded.
The National Framework for Child Safety on the Internet was introduced last week during the Sixth Saudi Family Forum for Child Safety on the Internet, and the SDAIA is helping to put it into practise.
