NewsIn an effort to help Saudi farmers, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture on Wednesday launched the "Harvest Season" awareness campaign. The campaign's goals are to increase the efficiency of the ministry's marketing system and promote fruits grown locally.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the introduction was a part of initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle by purchasing local food, increase awareness of the value of eating fruits grown nearby, and disseminate information about agricultural goods.
The leadership's strong support for the agriculture industry has improved local crop production's sustainability and raised the industry's share of the Kingdom's GDP to SR100 billion.
Many fruits and agricultural products, such as dates, figs, cantaloupes, watermelons, grapes, mangoes, and pomegranates, have seen an increase and strengthening in their rates of self-sufficiency as a direct result of this support.
