Chedi Hegra Hotel opens within the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia

The Chedi Hegra Hotel, located within the Hegra Archaeological Site—the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia—has opened, according to the Royal Commission for AlUla.

The hotel, which marks a new phase in AlUla's growth as a premier travel destination, will have 35 rooms that harmoniously blend luxury and the natural world. It preserves the area's cultural legacy while fusing it with modernity by incorporating existing buildings, such the train station, into its architecture.

There is a heritage gallery, a wellness center, a Saudi coffee shop, and three gourmet experiences with views of the stunning natural surroundings.

A unusual 1906 carriage sits in the middle of the station, which houses the main restaurant. A glass floor allows visitors to see the train repair section, which has also been preserved.
