Contract signing ceremony held for construction of three landmark architectural projects in the Jeddah Central Destination

The Jeddah Central Development Company (JCDA) CEO, Eng. Ahmed Al-Sulaim, signed four contracts for the development of three iconic architectural projects in the Jeddah Central Destination. A sports stadium, opera house, and oceanarium are situated in downtown Jeddah, alongside phase one infrastructure and utilities. According to a release, the contract signing ceremony took place at the location of the Jeddah Central Destination.

China Harbour Engineering Arabia Company Limited was granted the contract to carry out the initial stage of the infrastructure improvements at the Jeddah Central Destination (CHEC). By highlighting its modern culture and resurrecting its old legacy, it seeks to establish Jeddah as a major worldwide metropolis.

The Consortium of the Saudi branch of the China Railway Construction Corporation and Sama Construction for Contracting was given the contract to build the sports stadium. The stadium will be built with cooling systems for the stands and stadium, distinctive architecture that complies with FIFA regulations, and fulfilling worldwide standards. It can hold events for up to 45,000 spectators, both domestically and internationally.

According to a statement from Jeddah Central Destination, the Modern Building Leaders (MBL) firm was given the contract to build the oceanarium because the ocean basins provide a window into the intricacies of the marine life found in the depths of the Red Sea. It gives guests a unique experience that strengthens Jeddah's standing as a regional and international leader in marine environment preservation.

The Opera House, with its three highly-specified theatres, is a platform for innovation and inspiration that increases Jeddah's function as a platform connecting cultures, which is why the MBL was also given the contract for the Opera House's construction.
