EventThe 2023–2024 Diriyah Season beginning on December 12, will feature a carefully crafted three-month schedule of activities showcasing over 600 years of history and tradition, as well as arts and culture. With a stellar list of cultural performances, the season gets off to a musically stunning start. On December 10, tickets will go on sale for the inaugural cultural concept, which will feature performances by Saudi music icons Ayed and Rabeh Saqr in the Mayadeen Theatre.
The theme for this year calls on all Saudis to come together and celebrate their common culture and identity while also paying tribute to Diriyah's narrative and Al-Awja. The season will take place in five different Diriyah locations: the landmark UNESCO World Heritage Site At-Turaif; the Mayadeen theatre; Wadi Safar, home to a Diriyah cultural basecamp; Bujairi Terrace; and the Diriyah neighbourhood.
Seasonal events include the Diriyah E-Prix championship, immersive art installations and exhibitions, live theatre performances, and gastronomic experiences that honour both traditional and modern food.
For four weeks, the Mayadeen theatre will host Shetana, an outdoor winter-evening Saudi culinary experience, presented by the Ministry of Culture's Culinary Arts Commission every day. The theatre will host cultural concerts in addition to a dramatic equestrian performance.
The fine dining destination Bujairi Terrace will feature an expanded return of Layali Diriyah, which turns one of Diriyah's heritage farms into an outdoor illuminated wonderland that features the best in contemporary art, design, dance, live music, poetry, and theatrical performances from both domestic and international artists.
A themed escape room dubbed "Journey to the Future" will be added to Bujairi Terrace for the first time. It will challenge players' escape abilities and delve into the historical histories of the Kingdom.
The At-Turaif historic area has a number of activities scheduled for this season, including workshops, a retrospective, an exhibition, Souq Al-Mawsim, and poetry pop-ups.
The At-Turaif retrospective unites Diriyah's recollections and experiences into a multimedia project, all the while examining and embracing the ideals of At-Turaif's ongoing effect on the Kingdom. The exhibition titled "Diriyah Doors" delves into the historical background and significance of the ornately carved, richly coloured, and elaborately patterned doors found in Diriyah and Najd.

It is anticipated that the season, which ends in March, would boost the Kingdom's tourism industry by attracting both domestic and foreign tourists and creating 178,000 employment for young Saudis. The Diriyah Company and the Diriyah Gate Development Authority are presenting the Diriyah Season for 2023–2024.
