Diriyah Season launched a new program of activities at the At-Turaif District

On Friday, Diriyah Season began a new program of events at the UNESCO World Heritage site At-Turaif District, providing tourists with a variety of historical and cultural experiences to learn more about Saudi Arabia's past.

Through seminars, plays, and cultural events, the program covers significant events from the first Saudi state's history.

Activities for visitors will include poetry readings, traditional Najdi design workshops, and performances of the Kingdom's traditional sword dance, the Saudi Arda.

The redesigned 850 Interactive Experience, which is named for the founding of Diriyah in the Islamic calendar year 850 AH (1446 or 1447 AD in the Gregorian calendar), is another feature of this year's program.

The experience explores important historical personalities, such as Imam Turki bin Abdullah, and significant occasions in Diriyah's past through storytelling and puzzles.

While live performances and conversations will help audiences better understand the stories of At-Turaif's past, including its part in Saudi Arabia's early statehood, workshops in traditional construction techniques, historical games, and exhibitions showcasing the district's architecture are intended to deepen understanding of the region's cultural significance.
