Each individual beneficiary can avail of only one basic health insurance coverage effective from August 1

The Saudi Council of Health Insurance issued a directive, effective from Tuesday, August 1, requiring each individual beneficiary to have just one basic health insurance policy. The council has barred one person from purchasing more than one basic health insurance policy. The council stated in a letter to the Federation of Saudi Chambers that getting two or more insurance coverages for a worker or his dependant from one or more insurance providers will be suspended from August 1. The renewal of insurance documents and other operations will be carried out as planned, according to the council.
