Experience the brand-new Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art - SAMoCA show, opened at JAX District until May 20
21 Feb 2024
Event"In the Night," a brand-new Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA) show, opened at JAX District in Diriyah on Thursday, February 15, and runs until Monday, May 20.
The free SAMoCA art exhibition explores the topic of what you do with your time after dark by presenting modern pieces on the theme of nighttime by both domestic and foreign artists.
It is the first modern art museum in the Kingdom, helping Saudi artists as they pursue the goal of the Kingdom being a centre for art worldwide by emphasising current art through other programmes including the Diriyah current Art Biennale.
The exhibition takes guests on a thought-provoking journey into the depths of night and its cultural importance in an effort to investigate the transforming journey of how you experience the night.
His Excellency Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez and His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud support the occasion.
The exhibition will feature pieces by more than thirty domestic and foreign artists from France, Morocco, Tunisia, India, Japan, Argentina, Pakistan, Croatia, and other countries. Each artist will present their interpretation of the idea of darkness and its various secrets.
Large canvases, immersive experiences, movies, sculptures, installations, and other works of art will showcase diverse perspectives, enabling you to fully immerse yourself in the many interpretations of the nighttime environment.
A variety of panel discussions and age-appropriate art workshops are also offered.
The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA), located in Riyadh's JAX District, an artistic hotspot, is hosting the show.
Over a hundred art-focused warehouses can be found in Diriyah's JAX area, an art area that emphasises the creativity and inspiration of art.
Beginning on Thursday, February 15 and lasting through Monday, May 20, is when the event will take place. The exhibition is open on Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
