Film Commission is hosting the Film Criticism Conference in Riyadh from November 7 to 14

The Film Commission will hold the Film Criticism Conference in Riyadh, from 7-14 November, bringing together professionals and enthusiasts in the industry. The conference's objective, according to CEO of the Film Commission Abdullah Al-Eyaf, is to promote critical conversation in line with advancements in Saudi, Arab, and foreign film production in the Kingdom.

He went on to say that the development of the Saudi film industry is essential to achieving the goals of the National Culture Strategy, which include enhancing the Kingdom's cultural impact and creating a worldwide footprint on international stages. The conference will promote cross-cultural communication between authors, reviewers, and movie buffs. Live conversations with prominent people are a part of it, such as Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonca Filho.

Directors Yousry Nasrallah and other experts will lead discussions on a range of subjects, including the relationship between filmmaking and cinema criticism. Professor of English literature Saad Al-Bazei will examine how books and films relate to one another, emphasising how both mediums transcend illusion. Professional cinema criticism courses will be offered, one of which will be taught by Indian critic Shubhra Gupta.

The conference will provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the arts, literature, and cinema's overarching story via creative activities, talks, and practical workshops.
