The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Program held the fourth Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition, which got underway in Jeddah on Monday.
Islamic ministers, ambassadors, and representatives from 87 countries attended the event, which was opened by Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, was also present.
According to Al-Rabiah, a record 18,535,689 pilgrims and Umrah performers traveled to Makkah and Madinah in 2024, including 1,611,310 Hajj pilgrims and 16,924,689 Umrah performers.
Over 300 local and international organizations will showcase ideas and technologies to improve the Hajj and Umrah experience during the four-day event, which has as its subject "The Road to the Nusuk."
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that logistics, transportation, crowd control, accommodation, hospitality, and catering are important subjects since they are the foundation for enhancing pilgrim services and rites.
In addition to addressing sustainability, eco-friendly technology, artificial intelligence in crowd management, and digital solutions, the event has more than 130 local and international speakers, 50 workshops, and 47 discussion sessions. It also highlights prospects for startups and innovators in the Hajj sector.
