NewsIn order to transport Umrah pilgrims for free, the General Syndicate of Cars (GSC) has established a public transportation system at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah.
A boarding card is required for the bus that will take pilgrims to Kudai parking lots and subsequently to Makkah's Grand Mosque.
The number of journeys made from the airport to the Grand Mosque during Ramadan, according to GSC general director Osama Samkari, reached 13 straight frequency excursions.
Samkari affirmed that there will be more trips during the final 10 days of Ramadan in addition to changing the bus excursions' departure time to match the time of Tahajjud prayer and the sharp increase in the number of flights landing at the airport.
Buses will start leaving the airport at 3 p.m. and continue until 3 a.m., while journeys leaving Makkah will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until 4 a.m.
The trips begin everyday at 10:00 a.m. and depart hourly till 10:00 p.m. Additionally, 12 buses leave Makkah every day between 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
The service intends to make it easier for pilgrims to travel to the Grand Mosque using public transit and to lessen congestion and density in the area's centre.
This would help to make it easier for pilgrims to execute the rituals in a comfortable and efficient manner with a variety of options.
