HADAF Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi and Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan jointly inaugurated the vocational guidance and counseling initiative in Saudi schools

The programme for career assistance and counselling in Saudi schools was launched on Sunday by Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF), and Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan. A large number of partners representing diverse industries attended the occasion.

The project, which is overseen by HADAF in collaboration and integration with education departments in various regions and governorates throughout the Kingdom, aims to align educational outcomes with labour market requirements and give male and female students access to information about current and future skills and requirements that are crucial for the employment market.

Turki Aljawini, the director general of HADAF, stated that the Fund and its partners hope to strengthen the idea of vocational guidance and implement it in both public and private schools through a team of certified vocational counsellors in order to align educational outcomes with industry standards and to give both male and female students access to information about present and future skills and industry standards. At the university level, Aljawini said that more than 72,000 male and female students received career counselling services.

In reference to the successful integration of all partners in the vocational guidance and counselling programme, he stated that during the previous eight months, the program's beneficiaries totaled more than one million male and female beneficiaries, with a satisfaction rate of more than 91 percent.

According to statistics for the first half of the year, there were about 600,000 visitors to the Subul platform, while 17,000 male and female individuals benefited from remote professional guidance sessions, and 103 male and female professional guides were qualified. Additionally, almost 2,000 professional and specialised workshops were held with the overarching goal of resolving difficulties in the necessary specialisations.
