His Majestys Ship Onaiza, the fifth vessel in the Sarawat project was launched on Tuesday

The fifth ship in the Sarawat project, His Majesty's Ship Onaiza, was launched on Tuesday by Saudi Arabia's Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, according to the Saudi Press Agency. 

The Sarawat project ships are outfitted with state-of-the-art electronic warfare equipment as well as combat systems intended to counter air, surface, and subsurface threats. With the intention of protecting the country's marine interests and capabilities, the ships are an essential addition to the Royal Saudi Navy's inventory.

Al-Ghofaily stressed the importance of Onaiza, an Avante 2200 corvette, in enhancing maritime security in the area and defending the Kingdom's strategic interests in his speech during the launch ceremony.
