NewsThe Jeddah Historic District Programme has partnered with Al Balad Development Company to oversee heritage hotels inside the Jeddah Historic District, operating under the Ministry of Culture's authority. This programme is a part of a larger effort to increase tourism, improve the quality of services provided to travellers, and offer distinctive experiences that showcase Saudi culture and Jeddah's past.
The program's goal is to revitalise Al Balad, which has approximately 600 historical structures. It focuses on repairing heritage hotels while keeping the unique architectural integrity of the buildings, in accordance with UNESCO's requirements.
After repair, Al Balad Development Company's "Al Balad Hospitality" branch will run the 34 legacy houses that make up the heritage hotels.
These hotels are intended to provide visitors with a fusion of modern and traditional amenities in the centre of Jeddah's history.
Al Balad Hospitality and the Jeddah Historic District Program's Destination Management Office will collaborate to improve the visitor experience by providing distinctive regional goods and genuine Saudi customs.
