Jeddah Mayoralty inaugurated the first sandy beach in North Obhur

The first sandy beach in North Obhur, spanning 17,640 square meters, was opened by the Jeddah Mayoralty. This project is a component of the mayoralty's endeavors to create model public sandy beaches and restore waterfronts.

According to Capt. Thamer Nahhas, Undersecretary of Marine Monitoring, the beach has seen a lot of tourists and visitors since it opened. He emphasized the mayoralty's commitment to provide the public free, safe, and well-equipped areas where they can enjoy swimming and other water sports.

Installing marine monitoring towers to enhance safety and emergency rescue operations was part of the preparation and development of these beaches, according to Nahhas. Sign boards were erected to inform beachgoers of regulations and acceptable swimming hours, and solar-powered lights were built for environmentally friendly lighting.

Two additional beaches in North Obhur are being developed by the mayoralty; one is 10,320 square meters in size, while the other is 75,000 square meters.
