King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture celebrated International Volunteer Day on December 5

The King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture observed the International Volunteer Day on December 5. The International Volunteer Day events at Ithra are part of a series of events, seminars, and panel discussions that the centre is hosting from December 5 to 14. The event emphasises the value of volunteer programmes and how they help young people grow as individuals.

Over 15,000 individuals, both male and female, have participated in over 600,000 hours of community service as Ithra volunteers. The International Volunteer Day Forum, themed "Sustainable Volunteering," will be launched on December 14 as part of the festivities. The event will examine various volunteer programmes and initiatives with an emphasis on sustainable volunteer activity.

Experts from the Gulf region and local and international speakers will explore the best strategies for achieving sustainability in volunteer work.

The centre will also host a companion exhibition, under the theme "Ithra Volunteering,” with four stations. A screen showcasing the accomplishments of Ithra's volunteer services section will be present at the first station.

The third station will include the life stories of Ithra volunteers, including youth and cultural volunteers, while the second station will have a visual display that highlights the work done by volunteers the previous year. The fourth station will employ virtual reality technology to allow visitors to participate in interactive activities and get a peek at what it's like to volunteer at Ithra.
