King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah has reached a historic milestone in 2024, attaining the greatest yearly operational figure in Saudi airport history. The total number of passengers served by the airport exceeded 49.1 million, a 14 percent increase from 2023.
The airport also reported a considerable increase in overall flights, which exceeded 278,000, representing an 11% increase year on year. In addition, KAIA handled 47.1 million bags, representing a 21% increase in operating throughput.
The airport's busiest day ever recorded occurred on December 31, 2024, with over 174,600 passengers. Similarly, December 2024 became the busiest month in the airport's history, with almost 4.7 million passengers.
