King Abdulaziz Public Library hosted the Arabic Union Catalogs 10th meeting in Riyadh on Tuesday

NewsWith the theme "The Arabic Union Catalogue: Enabling interconnected data projects in Arab libraries," the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh convened the 10th meeting of the Arabic Union Catalogue on Tuesday. Numerous Saudi and Arab publishing businesses and libraries, together with representatives from cultural organisations and centres, are attending the two-day conference.
The CEO of the Saudi Libraries Authority, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Asem, representatives of cultural organisations, secretaries of Arab libraries and information centres, and Prince Khalid bin Talal, secretary-general of the King Fahad National Library, attended the opening ceremony, which took place in the library's main theatre.
Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar, General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library, provided insight into the history of the organisation from its founding in 2007.
After a protracted process of supplying and organising information sources through partnerships with hundreds of Arab libraries and institutions, the union is currently generating collaborative outcomes.
He urged Arab cultural organisations to work together to support scholars in order to raise awareness of reading and research in Arab cultures.
