King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh broke its highest-ever passenger traffic record

NewsKing Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh smashed its all-time record for passenger volume in July and August of 2024.
In a press release on Thursday, the KKIA—which is run and managed by Riyadh Airports Company (RAC)—announced that it handled 3.5 million passengers in July 2024, breaking the previous record of 3.1 million passengers recorded in June—a rise of 400,000 passengers.
The announcement states that on Thursday, August 1, 2024, the airport handled 130,000 passengers, breaking the previous records of 125,000 on July 25 and 124,000 on June 13. The airport's strong operating efficiency was demonstrated in July when it attained a seat occupancy rate of 91 percent.
