King Salman Club Cup 2023; schedule released, and venues confirmed for the group stage matches by the Arabian Football Federation

News EventThe 2023 King Salman Club Cup group stage schedule and sites have been announced by the Arabian Football Federation. The tournament will take place between July 27 and August 12 in the Saudi towns of Taif, Abha, and Al-Baha, the federation said on Thursday. Prior to that, between July 4 and 7, Sudanese club Al-Hilal will play Tunisian team Aymen Sfaxi in a postponed second qualifying round match. The victor of that match would join Saudi club Al-Ittihad, Iraqi team Al-Shurta, and Tunisian team Al-Taraji in Group A.
Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya, Al-Sadd of Qatar, and Al-Wedad of Morocco make up Group B. Al-Nassr and Al-Shabab from Saudi Arabia, Zamalek from Egypt, and Monastir Union from Tunisia are the teams in Group C.
Shabab Belouizdad of Algeria, Al-Raja of Morocco, Kuwait FC of Kuwait, and Al-Wahda of the United Arab Emirates will all compete in Group D.
The matches for the group stage will be between July 27 and August 3. On August 5 and 6, the quarterfinals will be contested, then on August 9, the semifinals, and on August 12, the championship. The prize money for the champions is $6 million, while for the runner-ups it is $2.5 million.
The Mohammed VI Cup Champions Cup, which had previously been held in 2021, was won by the Moroccan team Al-Raja. Top teams from the area compete in the King Salman Club Cup, commonly known as the Arab Club Champions Cup, which is a renowned event in Arab football. The host country's president, in this case, King Salman of Saudi Arabia, is the official moniker given to each staging of the event.
