The first multi-story parking structure in the central area, close to Masjid an-Nabawi, is being built by the Madinah Municipality. Up to 400 automobiles can be accommodated in the 12-story building, which will run on a fully automated smart mechanical system.
The project, which is estimated to be worth over 90 million riyals, near the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque, covers an area of about 982 square meters.
The facility will use cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for effective parking management and is designed to combine traditional urban heritage with contemporary architectural features.
Vehicles will be able to enter and exit without any manual help thanks to the automated system. The building's intelligent sensors will determine available spots and maximize car placement for efficiency and safety.
This creative solution will make the most use of available space and alleviate parking issues in the busy core area.
The project is a component of the municipality's broader proposal to build 18 comparable parking structures in Medina, totaling more than 4,666 parking spots.
