Ministry announced that there has been a 20 percent increase in the rate of “employment support” for 160 cultural professions

The rate of "employment support" for 160 cultural professions throughout 286 activities has increased by 20%, according to Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Culture. According to Prince Badr, a programme was implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Human Resources Development Fund, also known as Hadaf, to improve professional sustainability in the cultural sectors and achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which includes expanding Saudi Arabia's contribution to the arts and culture, and as a result, the rate of employment support for these professions increased from 30% to 50%.

Numerous occupations in the fields of heritage, language, books and publishing, libraries, fashion, theatre, performing arts, culinary arts, cinema, museums, visual arts, festivals and events, and architecture and design were among the cultural professions sponsored by the programme. The list also includes educational tracks for the cultural industry and multimedia design, such as those for film directors, art critics, art educators, theatre producers, theatre directors, poets, authors, literary critics, literary editors, literary publishers, textile designers, fashion designers, archaeologists, chefs, embroiderers, fashion guides, goldsmiths, fashion models, calligraphers, archaeologists, document and manuscript restoration technicians, furniture designers, and museum curators.

In order to coordinate efforts in developing human capital in culture and the arts and to improve professional sustainability for practitioners, amateurs, and entrepreneurs in various cultural fields, the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture and Hadaf was signed in June. One of the common goals of the agreement is to support cultural professions.

The Ministry of Culture has previously introduced a strategy for developing cultural capabilities, through which it collaborates effectively with government organisations to support the professional and long-term development of artists and cultural entrepreneurs, increase public awareness of developing cultural capabilities, and foster a favourable perception of the talents and careers in the arts and culture. This initiative integrates the efforts made by numerous pertinent parties and is a continuation of the ministry's efforts aimed at comprehensive national development.
