Muqeem platform has made amendments with regard to checking the visa status of holders of iqama

The Ministry of Interior's Muqeem platform has undergone modifications that affect the ability to verify the visa status of individuals who possess an iqama, or residence permit. The status of a visa holder will either be "allowed to enter" or "not allowed to enter," according the new amendment. Prior to today, the facility for verifying the status of a visa could only provide information on whether it was "valid, used, expired, or cancelled."

The Muqeem site was established in order to check the status of newly issued visas; at this time, there is no cost associated with using this service. Among the various services offered by the site, the most notable ones are "visitor status verification, report generation regarding the expat's visa status, and visa verification." It acts as a gateway for applying for entry permits into Makkah.

Over the past several years, a number of services pertaining to foreign employees and businesses have been converted to electronic versions. The most well-known example of this is the Qiwa platform, which has shortened the probationary time for new hires. The platform changed the maximum probationary period from 180 days to 90 days in the form for electronic labour contract documentation. This change was made to comply with the Labour Law, which states that a worker's probationary period cannot be longer than 90 days.

Although the Labour Law emphasised that if both parties to the contractual relationship wish to extend the probation period to 180 days, this must be done by written agreement between them after coming into force the employment contract during the original probation period, employers made the mistake of fixing the probation period at 180 days while documenting employment contracts through the Qiwa platform.

The platform shortened the previously stipulated seven-day window for accepting or rejecting explanations for employees' salary deposits into the compliance system to only three days. The site stated that the rationale provided by the establishment's representative will be handled automatically if the employee fails to provide one within the allotted time.

Notably, Muqeem is a cutting-edge online platform that was developed to transform Saudi Arabia's paperwork procedures for foreign workers. Muqeem's wide range of services and easy-to-use interface have made it a priceless tool for both organisations and international employees. Muqeem changed the way people interacted with government organisations by registering over 40,000 users in the Kingdom and completing over 52 million e-transactions since its introduction in 2007.

Apart from saving time and money, Muqeem guarantees precision while acquiring documents and helps users make well-informed decisions about their position in the Kingdom. Passports, traffic department reports, interactive services, subscriptions, transactions, and payments may all be accessed and reviewed by users.

Anyone wishing to verify the validity of their visas for Saudi Arabia can do so by using the Muqeem. This also holds for those with exit/re-entry visas who want to verify the legitimacy and information on their document.
