Name of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to be modified to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing

King Salman of Saudi Arabia ordered the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to be renamed the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing on Sunday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Majid Al-Hogail, the Saudi Minister of Housing, thanked King Salman and emphasised that the country's dedication to developing a cutting-edge urban environment in line with Vision 2030 goals was reflected in the name change.

The modification is to improve the overall performance of the ministry, according to the SPA, and its connected organisations, such as secretariats and municipalities, in order to accomplish sustainable urban development plans. 

Additionally, it aims to provide beneficiaries with cutting-edge services that will enable municipalities to enhance the standard of living in urban areas and progress the housing industry. 

Al-Hogail emphasised that the state's housing market and municipalities were essential elements that had a direct bearing on the lives of its residents.
