The names of the King Faisal Prize winners for 2025 will be unveiled in Riyadh on January 8. Specialized selection committees for the prize's four categories — Islamic studies, Arabic language and literature, health, and science — met at the prize's headquarters beginning Monday, according to the King Faisal Prize General Secretariat.
Deliberations will last until January 8, it added.
The themes for the KFP 2025 were previously declared by the General Secretariat. Islamic studies focuses on studying archaeology on the Arabian Peninsula, Arabic language and literature explores Identity studies in Arabic literature, Cellular Therapy in medical, and Physics in science.
Universities, research centers, and scientific institutions receive nominations for the prize, verifying that nominees meet stringent eligibility requirements.
Candidates must be living, have published work that is intellectually impactful, and contribute to the advancement of humanity. The secretariat stated that nominations from individuals or political groups are not welcomed.
This year's selection committees include leading professionals, researchers, and specialists from 16 nations. The evaluation method maintains the greatest levels of integrity.
The General Secretariat will reveal the winners on January 8 at 8:00 p.m., during a ceremony at the Prince Sultan Grand Hall in the Al-Faisaliah Center in Riyadh.
