National Center for Inspection and Oversight will work to develop a plan to unify inspection and oversight activities among various government agencies

The newly established National Centre for Inspection and Oversight (NCIO), according to Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majed Al-Hogail, will collaborate and coordinate with pertinent government agencies to create a plan that will streamline inspection and oversight operations across different government agencies.

According to Al-Hogail, who also serves as head of NCIO's board of directors, the new centre will help to enhance the Kingdom's economic climate. The creation of NCIO, which intends to coordinate inspection and oversight efforts among government agencies, was authorised by the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.

He reaffirmed that the centre would uphold integrity and transparency in oversight and inspection work, review procedures for forming committees to consider objections while protecting the rights of all parties and carry out awareness campaigns in collaboration with government agencies to increase public knowledge of the requirements, rules, and regulations, all of which help to increase compliance rates.

The centre will improve coordination of cooperative work in inspection and oversight with the appropriate authorities, according to Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi. It will also develop oversight mechanisms and procedures, which will have a positive impact on coordinating efforts and enhancing the business environment. He praised the astute leadership's unwavering support and enthusiasm for all choices that were constructive in this regard.

The center's construction is part of a national push to enhance the Kingdom's economic climate in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The NCIO is tasked with a number of specialisations, such as creating protocols that ensure the transparent and ethical execution of the supervisory role, examining the procedures for establishing committees to address complaints, and coordinating recurring campaigns with the pertinent government agencies.

Using the most recent technological tools, the center's work will also support efforts to increase the effectiveness of supervisory work and the compliance rate. These efforts will improve the regulatory environment and increase labour market efficiency, both of which are in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programmes.

The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham Al-Jadhey, emphasised the significance of the decision to enhance the business climate in the Kingdom and safeguard beneficiaries' and consumers' rights by organising oversight and inspection activities among government agencies and instituting protocols that guarantee honesty and openness.
