NewsThe "National Minerals Programme" will be a potent and helpful instrument for improving the quality and efficiency of supply chains and guaranteeing the ongoing supply for regional industries and significant projects, according to Bandar Al-Khorayef, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
He mentioned that it will actively drive the industry's growth routes and make use of the Kingdom's mineral resources.
The program was authorised by the Council of Ministers on Tuesday during a meeting presided over by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
As part of the nation's efforts to maximise the value realised from the industry, the ministry-affiliated programme seeks to improve the effectiveness and sufficiency of present and future mineral supply chains and guarantee their continuity at the regional and global levels.
Al-Khorayef clarified that the program's creation demonstrates the leadership's involvement in the industry. According to him, Saudi Arabia aims to create mineral value chains, making mining the third pillar of the country's economy.
The nation seeks to use its strategic location as one of the most important main trade crossroads, backed by a wide range of sophisticated, integrated, and diversified infrastructure, to promote economic growth and the sustainability of its economy on a regional and international scale.
