NCM announced weather warning level in the Makkah city, Jeddah and five other governorates in the Makkah region on red alert

The Makkah city, Jeddah, and five other governorates in the Makkah region are now under a red alert for weather-related issues, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The notice will be in effect from 12:00 am on Tuesday until 1:00 pm on Wednesday. Rabigh, Khulais, Al-Kamil, Al-Jamoum, and Bahra are some of these governorates.

The NCM prediction is that these governorates will likely see intense rainfall, strong gusts, reduced visibility, hail, torrential floods, and thunderclaps. In a statement, the centre warned that the majority of Saudi Arabia is forecast to see more weather variations through Thursday.

The Makkah region's Jeddah, Bahra, Rabigh, Khulais, Allaith, and Qunfudhah are expected to get moderate to heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Most of Saudi Arabia will likely have rain until the middle of the next week, according to the preliminary projections.

The General Directorate of Civil Defence has also issued a warning to the public to exercise extreme caution and vigilance, avoid valleys, swamps, and flood routes, and avoid going swimming in these dangerous areas. Additionally, given the likelihood of thunderstorms across much of Saudi Arabia until Thursday, it asked people to heed the warnings and orders issued by different official media channels and social media platforms.
