New design code for the Sports Boulevard will significantly alter Riyadh's appearance and ambiance

The new Sports Boulevard design code, which CEO Jayne McGivern revealed on Monday, would drastically change Riyadh's look and feel. Speaking during the "Hidden Wealth of Cities" session of the Real Estate Future Forum in Riyadh, McGivern stressed the project's dedication to capturing a distinct Saudi personality.

McGivern provided further details on the design criteria, pointing out that Salmani architectural principles were used. The plan takes massing, renewable energy, water efficiency, and plant species selection into account.

The CEO emphasised how the design code for Sports Boulevard has a major influence, impacting almost 18% of Riyadh's overall area. McGivern declared the Sports Boulevard to be the world's longest linear park, covering 135 km, and announced the impending inauguration of the boulevard's first area. There will be hundreds of walking and cycling routes available. "The boulevard will feature 60 different sports activities, accessible to all, not just elite athletes," she stated.

McGivern noted the large proportion of Saudi workers, including a sizable female presence, and lauded the effectiveness of the local labour force.
