By using electric golf carts to carry 57,000 worshippers within the Grand Mosque on the 27th night of Ramadan 1446H, the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque set a new record for mobility services.
This milestone symbolizes the ongoing improvement of the holy site's transportation offerings, particularly at busy times of the year.
In just the first 15 days of Ramadan, more than 522,000 worshippers used the Grand Mosque's different transportation options.
Approximately 15,000 people took advantage of the free manual golf carts offered in specific locations, over 86,000 chose upgraded paid carts, and over 421,000 used electric golf carts.
The authority has increased the number of electric golf carts in the mosque to 400 in order to accommodate the increasing demand. The "Unified Transportation" platform, which enables users to reserve carts in advance, select between manual and electric alternatives, and make payments electronically, further supports these services.
