Noor Riyadh light festival sets new Guinness World Records for the fourth consecutive year

The Noor Riyadh light festival has broken 16 previous records, including setting new Guinness World Records for the fourth year in a row.

The Longest Distance Covered by a Laser Light in a Laser Show is one of the two new records. With a 1 kW laser projected from the 267-meter Al-Faisaliah Tower, UK artist Chris Levine's Higher Power set the record.

Four beams that were visible even against the city lights stretched across Riyadh as part of the artwork. In keeping with Levine's belief that light can serve as a conduit for spiritual connection, oneness, and introspection, the laser encoded "Salaam," which translates to "peace" in Arabic, in Morse code.

This year's Noor Riyadh, which was organized by Effat Abdullah Fadag and Alfredo Cramerotti, was held from November 28 to December 14 at three locations: Wadi Hanifah, JAX District, and King Abdulaziz Historical Center.

With more than 60 pieces of art from more than 60 artists from 18 different nations, the fourth edition turned the city into a bustling outdoor gallery that drew millions of tourists.
