Number of industrial establishments in Saudi Arabia is targeted to reach 36,000 in 2035

The projected number of industrial enterprises in Saudi Arabia is 36,000 by 2035, according to Eng. Mohammad Al-Suwailem, undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources responsible for industrial services. The National Industrial Strategy, he claimed, is in line with this.

Eng. Al-Suwailem highlighted that the number of industrial establishments in the Kingdom rose from 8,800 establishments in 2019 to more than 11,000 industrial establishments. The comments by Eng. Al-Suwailem were made during the "Industrial Sector Enablers" session, which was put on by the Riyadh Chamber, through the Industrial Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

The forum, which was held in the presence of Abdullah Al-Khorayef, a member of the board of directors and chairman of the industrial committee at the Riyadh Chamber, as well as several interested and knowledgeable participants in the industrial sector, highlighted the enablers that were allocated to help the industry achieve its goals in line with the Kingdom's 2030 Vision.

Eng. Al-Suwailem highlighted the objective of conducting the forum and the enablers offered in it is to empower the industrial sector to carry out its function in economic growth while complimenting the successes made over the previous time and the capabilities that have been given to the sector.

Al-Khorayef confirmed on his end that the forum's holding fits into the Chamber's Industry Committee's efforts to establish communication channels with officials in the industrial sector and give the sector's concerns the chance to be discussed and addressed. As the industrial sector is seen as being of utmost importance for attaining economic growth, he also commended the capabilities that have been monitored for it.
