Qiddiya Investment Company announced the introduction of an innovative performing arts centre as the first cultural asset of Qiddiya City
As the first cultural asset of the recently announced Qiddiya City, Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has announced the opening of an innovative performing arts center. It is anticipated that the center will see more than 800,000 visits annually. The center is home to the first multi-use gaming and esports district in the world, the motorsport track, the Dragon Ball theme park, the world's first multi-use gaming district, and Aquarabia, Saudi Arabia's first water theme park. Qiddiya Investment Company's managing director, Abdullah Aldawood, noted that the city will be a hub of innovation and creativity that will revolutionize Saudi Arabia's cultural scene. With its innovative modern architecture, cutting-edge technology, and dedication to developing talent, the center personifies Qiddiya City's essence as an unbounded imaginative environment. Every year, the center presents over 260 performances and events both indoors and outside. Three halls with over 3,000 seats each provide a 360-degree experience that combines digital and physical components. In order to foster emerging Saudi talent and offer educational opportunities for authors, producers, and actors, the center will also present innovative plays of classic theater. The ultimate goal is to instill pride in Saudi culture and heritage. Through the creation of thousands of work opportunities in over 100 job categories within the creative and cultural sector, the performing arts center will promote economic growth. In addition to art galleries, green areas, and a rooftop sky garden, the center's unique architecture will serve as a symbol of the city's identity. The building's dramatic setting pays homage to the performances it will feature. The promenade walk that traverses the Tuwaiq cliffs will terminate in a covered area beneath the center that provides a vantage point over the city. This area will serve as an expansion of the center's microclimate, which cools the neighborhood around it and starts with a waterfall in the foyer.
