NewsQiddiya Investment Company revealed on Wednesday a bold new plan that details Qiddiya City's all-encompassing ESG approach, its pledges in many important areas, and its implementation schedule for the following three years. The report commits to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2060 and lists 25 prioritised actions.
Additionally, Qiddiya City will create an affordable travel programme for low-income tourists that will provide cheap tickets for major events and entertainment places, ensuring that everyone may visit the city regardless of their financial situation.
Qiddiya City commits to reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2060 in line with national objectives by implementing a number of programmes related to water use, waste disposal, recycling, and transportation.
These goals include using 90% of organic waste in compost to preserve green spaces, processing 100% of wastewater to expedite the purification process for water recycling and guaranteeing that 80% of parking places can charge electric vehicles.
The study also outlines how worker welfare is prioritised, along with a comprehensive plan that promotes diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, increases employment, and offers health, safety, and well-being top priority. The study outlines Qiddiya City's plans to be hospitable, inclusive, and accessible to individuals from many backgrounds.
The study outlines the pledges made by Qiddiya City on over 25 key initiatives and 16 ESG themes on which it might have a substantial influence. In order to ensure consistency with international best practices, the thorough study assessed more than 100 risks and opportunities across relevant themes and was benchmarked against 15 industry peers.
In keeping with national aspirations for female empowerment, Qiddiya City plans to guarantee that by 2030, women would hold 30% of leadership roles and 40% of positions in the city's operations and headquarters. The project is anticipated to generate around 325,000 employment.
