Laheq Island, the first private residential island in Saudi Arabia that offers a luxurious lifestyle, was unveiled by Red Sea Global. Following the completion of phase one, which opened five resorts in 2023 and welcomed its first visitors, the island is the site of the RSG's first residential development.
According to a recent Saudi Press Agency article, work is currently underway to finish 11 more resorts on Shura Island.
The Red Sea International Airport connects the location to other regions of the Kingdom and the globe.
Laheq Island, which is expected to open in 2028, will be the first residential-only development in the area with high-rate hospitality amenities and services.
Surrounded by one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, which is home to more than 2,000 rare and unusual marine species, Laheq is a part of an archipelago of 92 immaculate islands along the west coast of the Kingdom.
Covering 400 hectares, the island offers both locals and tourists a variety of recreational amenities and activities.
According to the SPA, when all of the resorts and amenities are powered by renewable energy, the Red Sea destination will surpass all other tourist destinations in the globe.
This year, all 16 of the phase one resorts should be open. There will be 50 resorts with 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential units spread across 22 islands and six inland locations by 2030.
