EventThis month, AlUla on Wheels is making a return to the Al-Jadidah Arts District. The vintage roller disco, which runs from January 25 to April 27, is a follow-up to the popular inaugural event from the previous year. With the title "Al-Jadidah Time Machine," it will include dance, hip-hop, and reggaeton music from the 1970s to the 2000s.
"Bringing the event back this year was critical to satisfy demand from the local community and those from further afield following the overwhelming success of last year," stated Rami Almoallim, vice president of destination management and marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla.
Noor Taher and Swizz Beatz, the co-founders of the Saudi creative agency Good Intentions, collaborated with design company KeyConcept to develop an immersive experience that included dining, dancing, skating, and socialising with an emphasis on community, culture, and mobility across time.
Classic arcade games like pinball and Pac-Man will also be available.
Tickets for skating sessions are SR40 ($10.67) apiece, and sessions last 45 minutes.
