Riyadh International Book Fair 2024; More than one million book lovers and people visited the 10-day event

The 10-day Riyadh International Book Fair 2024 drew in over a million book enthusiasts of all ages, and it concluded on Saturday. Dr. Muhammad Alwan, CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, which oversaw the event's organisation at King Saud University, stated that sales at the book festival had surpassed SR28 million. 

The expo opened on Thursday, September 26, and included over 2,000 Saudi, Arab, and worldwide publishing firms and agencies from over 30 countries showcasing their products. At the fair, which took place across 800 pavilions at King Saud University, guests and book lovers were treated to an extensive schedule of more than 200 programs appropriate for all age groups, providing a unique intellectual and cultural experience. 

Many authors, philosophers, intellectuals, and book lovers from Saudi Arabia and beyond came to the book festival called "Riyadh Reads."

The book fair has taken on new significance as a venue for showcasing the inventiveness of leading publishers, senior writers, and influential thinkers in the area and throughout the globe. Having been a major yearly cultural and intellectual event for many years, it has come to represent the Kingdom's leadership in publishing and culture, its long history of cultural legacy, and its encouragement of artistic expression.

The event solidifies Riyadh's standing as one of the Arab world's most significant global cultural hubs. The festival is an important forum for publishers, as well as for intellectual and cultural interchange, and a gathering place for authors, as it attracts participation from Saudi, Arab, and worldwide cultural organisations and institutions.
