According to Fahd bin Abdulmohsen Al-Rasheed, chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA), Riyadh is expected to rank among the top ten cities in the world. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia's economy, which is part of the Group of Twenty (G20), is growing quickly, especially in its non-oil sectors, which have grown by 7%.
Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh for its eighth edition, Al-Rasheed pointed out that Saudi Vision 2030 has led the exhibits and conferences industry in new ways. He emphasized the objective of raising the number of events held in the Kingdom to 40,000 by 2030, from more than 17,000 in 2023.
Additionally, the chairman emphasized the importance of organizing Expo 2030 under HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's direction. "It will bring nations together and serve as an example of a forward-thinking vision based on future aspirations," he said.
Al-Rasheed emphasized the revolutionary effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on workforce and city adaption, saying that as the globe enters the digital age, AI integration is crucial. Events like the FII, he continued, rely largely on technical innovation, highlighting the significance of innovation and creative thought in influencing the future.
