NewsThe first phase of the Riyadh Metro is expected to carry one million passengers each day, according to Minister of Transportation and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser.
King Salman marked a significant turning point in Saudi Arabia's public transportation system on Wednesday by launching the Riyadh Metro project.
The project marks Riyadh's rise to prominence as a world city with cutting-edge transit infrastructure. "Supported and enabled by the Crown Prince, this metro system cements Riyadh’s position as a beacon of progress and innovation," said Al-Jasser.
With a design capacity of one million people per day, the metro is anticipated to improve quality of life, increase customer happiness, and support Saudi Vision 2030's goals, especially those of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
