NewsThe Child Affairs Unit at the Public Prosecution in Riyadh has unveiled a dedicated Interrogation Room for children, reinforcing its commitment to child protection and prioritizing children's rights in line with the Child Protection System and related laws. This initiative coincides with International Children’s Day.
Designed to offer a safe and comfortable environment, the specialized room ensures that children are protected from psychological or emotional harm during the investigation process. The authorities aim to respect the child’s privacy while safeguarding their dignity and rights.
The room is equipped with advanced technology to record statements from children who have been affected by neglect or other social issues, while also assessing potential psychological or physical harm. Interactive elements, such as games and pictures, are included in the room’s design to help children communicate freely and safely.
Investigations are conducted by a team of trained male and female social workers who specialize in child care. These professionals employ both scientific and compassionate techniques to address the sensitivities of children, ensuring that information is gathered accurately and in a supportive manner.
