RIYDE, an innovative cycling experience has been unveiled in Riyadh, designed to elevate fitness levels

The Sports Boulevard Foundation has launched RIYDE, a unique cycling experience aimed at improving fitness levels around Riyadh, in partnership with leading global technology companies. With the help of cutting-edge technology, Sports Boulevard has created an immersive cycling platform that lets users ride through virtual courses and compete with one another in friendly settings within an immersive cycling booth outfitted with the best gear available.

As part of the larger Sports Boulevard project, RIYDE is creating 220 km of bike lanes to promote a sports and cycling culture in the nation's capital while the project is being built. The RIYDE booth will be available at several public places for the first two weeks of the event. Friends, family, and coworkers are welcome to participate in socialising, exercising, and competing in a new sport in a cool, air-conditioned setting.

The experience includes a virtual 5.24 km course that may be cycled in 10 to 15 minutes and is tailored to suit varying levels of fitness. Additionally, guests will be able to discover how the Sports Boulevard project will alter Riyadh in the future by using virtual reality technology.

The launch of RIYDE is in line with the foundation's objective to provide accessible cycling facilities and encourage sports engagement while the Sports Boulevard's citywide infrastructure is being built.

One of Riyadh's grandiose megaprojects, Sports Boulevard was inaugurated on March 19, 2019, by King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. With the backing of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the project extends over 135 kilometres and creates a network of secure green routes for equestrians, bikers, walkers, and sports to connect Wadi Hanifah and Wadi Al Sulai.

It will be a major step towards making Riyadh a centre for sports and healthy living, with over 4.4 million square metres of greenery, open spaces, and up to 50 multifunctional sports facilities.
