Royal Commission for AlUla received its first delivery of 30 electric cars produced by Lucid Motors

Lucid Motors' first delivery of thirty electric automobiles was made to the Royal Commission for AlUla. The governorate has entered into a deal to purchase Lucid EVs to improve sustainability, protect the local environment, advance a green economy, and lower carbon emissions.

Yaser Al-Quhidan, assistant minister of finance for financial affairs, stated that the RCU arrangement is the first installment of a larger agreement between the Kingdom and Lucid Motors for the delivery of EVs. It is a major step in the right direction towards realising Vision 2030's goals, which include boosting economic expansion and generating employment in non-oil industries.

Al-Quhidan stated that the deal demonstrates the Kingdom's dedication to the EV sector and a circular carbon economy. Additionally, it follows the Middle East Green and Saudi Green objectives that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has declared. Other areas of the Kingdom can learn from AlUla's transport system's utilisation of EVs.

RCU started an autonomous electric car service at the Dadan site and the ancient town in 2021. A year later, the company started a tram project to connect the governorate with busy areas.

The AlUla tram system will function in harmony with the surrounding natural environment thanks to a low-impact design.
