SAFF has been officially designated as the host association for the AFC Champions League Elite Final Stage

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has been formally named the host association for the AFC Champions League Elite - Final Stage for the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 seasons by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). There will be two divisions of the best 24 clubs on the continent: West and East, each with 12 teams. A home-and-away league system will be used by these clubs to earn a berth in the Round of 16, where the eight winners advance to the Final Stage.

The Final Stage, which includes the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Final, will be contested as single-leg ties in Saudi Arabia, marking a revolutionary step for the Asian club competition. The AFC victors League Elite - Final Stage 2024/25 will have its crucial matches from April 25 to May 4, 2025,. The eventual victors will compete for the biggest prize pool of $12 million.

From the $4 million given to the winners of the current season, this financial payout is a triple increase. In a similar vein, the runners-up will now get $6 million, treble the amount they did this season ($2 million).

The SAFF was selected as the event's host after all Member Associations (MAs) were asked to indicate their interest in hosting it for at least two seasons beginning in 2024–2025. Based on an assessment of the facilities, lodging, and other operational elements required for a competition of the calibre of the continent's redesigned elite club championship, the choice was made.

The SAFF has also been provisionally given hosting rights for the next three seasons, from 2026/27 to 2028/29, in accordance with the expressed interest.
