"Saif Al-Salam 12" field maneuvers have commenced in Saudi Arabia's northern region on Sunday

Sunday saw the start of the "Saif Al-Salam 12" field exercises in the northern area of Saudi Arabia. This is a major joint effort by the Saudi military forces, the Ministries of Interior and National Guard, and the Presidency of State Security.

The official spokesperson for the drills, Ali Al-Ali, gave specifics on how many different military activities will be included in the training.

There will be strategic assault manoeuvres, offensive air operations, defensive counter-air operations, and air interdiction. Along with confronting hostile air threats, the operations will encompass both conventional and unconventional warfare techniques, as well as cordon and disinfection operations aimed at important infrastructure such as buildings and settlements.

The Red Sea and Arabian Gulf regions are included in the drills, which focus on training to counter possible threats such drones, booby-trapped vessels, and naval mines.

Protecting vital infrastructure inside the operational zones and carrying out search and rescue operations are two more areas of attention.

The goal of this drill phase, according to Al-Ali, is to improve the participating forces' readiness.

The exercises aim to strengthen the preparedness and capabilities of Saudi Arabia's military and security forces by using a variety of cutting-edge weapons in a combined operations environment that is marked by a high level of professionalism and training.
