Sales at the first Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee surpassed SR10 million

News EventMore than SR10 million ($2.6 million) had been raised for the first Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee.
Special offers, the impending holy month of Ramadan, and access to specialized marketplaces with daily promotions all attracted tourists to Saudi Arabia for coffee and dates.
Over 26 different types of dates and related goods were available at 30 businesses and stores throughout the 10-day festival.
Twenty coffee shops were also selling two to three tons of the brew per day, with sales rising to about five tonnes on weekends.
The festival highlighted the significance of these two products in Saudi Arabian culture and was sponsored by a number of government agencies and institutions in the province, the SPA continued.
Local coffee, which symbolizes generosity and social authenticity, is an essential component of the national character, while dates symbolize the Kingdom's agricultural legacy and its position as one of the world's top producers and exporters.
