Saudi Arabia launches first hydrogen-powered bus as part of sustainable transport initiative

NewsSaudi Arabia has unveiled its first hydrogen-powered bus, marking a significant step in the kingdom’s drive toward sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.
The test run of the bus service was inaugurated by Al Ahsa Governor Saud bin Talal. The service is set to connect the eastern city of Dammam with the Al Ahsa governorate, covering a daily route of 359 km. The bus can accommodate up to 45 passengers.
According to the Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA), the launch is part of a broader initiative involving a series of trials aimed at fostering a sustainable transport future. These efforts focus on innovative solutions that preserve the environment and enhance the quality of life.
